Poetic Peace Arts Presents an Intergenerational Storytelling Experience Connecting Youth, Elders, and Community

 Macon, GA — Saturday, January 24, 2026, | 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Tubman Museum | 310 Cherry Street, Downtown Macon

Poetic Peace Arts invites Macon and surrounding communities to pull up a chair and step into The Front Room Sessions, a powerful, feel-good, truth-telling gathering rooted in memory, culture, and community connection. Hosted by cultural curator Y-O, this dynamic event features real stories from special invited elders and community voices of all ages—from Pleasant Hill, Eastside, West Macon, Southside, Northside, and neighboring counties.

More than an event, The Front Room Sessions is a movement—one that honors how vibrant and thriving our neighborhoods used to be while creating space to imagine what’s possible when youth and elders come together today.

“Before group chats and social media, the front room was where wisdom was passed down, laughter was shared, and community was built,” said organizers from Poetic Peace Arts. “This session brings that energy back—live, unfiltered, and rooted in love for our people.”

Held at the historic Tubman Museum, the afternoon will center on storytelling, reflection, and dialogue that bridges generations and sparks deeper engagement with Macon’s cultural legacy. The event also encourages attendees to become members or volunteers at The Tubman Museum, strengthening community ownership of one of the city’s most vital cultural institutions.
