Central Georgia Women of Impact: Awards & Bruncheon Ceremony

As we lean into Women’s History Month, the Douglass TheatreTubman Museum, and Ruth Hartley Mosley Memorial Women Center have come together to present the 2024 Central Georgia Women of Impact Awards & Bruncheon Ceremony.   The event acknowledges, spotlights, and honor women who have made a significant contribution and impact in the Central Georgia community through ambition, action, and attainment.  Join in, as 3 institutions of Black Excellence come together to SPOTLIGHT, SPEAK THE NAMES, and PAY TRIBUTE to the work of powerful and influential female leaders in the Central Georgia community; with guest host Kamilah Williams of 13WMAZ.

The Awards and Honorees:                                      

  • Harriet Tubman “Acts of Courage” Award:
    • Charity Harris and Starr Purdue
  • Fannie Appling Douglass “Cornerstone of Culture” Award:
    • Angel Irving Cobb and Wini McQueen
  • Ruth Hartley Mosley “Pioneer of Community Advancement” Award:
    • Dr. Patrice Walker, MD  and Dr. Keisha Collins, MD, MPH
  • Executive Leaders’ “Champion of Transformative Change” Award:
    • Meaghan Blight, President of Wesleyan College
