Workshops & Lectures

The Ellen Craft Memorial Lecture Series was held on May 10th and 11th, hosted by the Tubman Museum and Mercer University. The Georgia Humanities Council provided grant funding to support this educational workshop. The Ellen Craft Memorial Lecture Series
“Reconsidering the African Diaspora: African Influences in American Life”

Hosted by Mercer University Medical School Auditorium & Tubman Museum

 

This annual lecture series will be held in conjunction with the premier exhibit “African Art from the Tubman’s Museum Collection”. The focus of the lecture series will be on the African influences on modern American culture and will serve as an introductory event for the Tubman’s 13th Annual Pan African Festival of Georgia to be held April 24th-26th, 2009. Scholars will explore several aspects of culture including literature, art, food, historical aspects of the African Diaspora and the Gullah/Greece culture.
